IWS Aviation owns a fleet of AIRBUS helicopters that are operated by some of the most experienced and qualified pilots in Sri Lanka operating under internationally accepted safety standards. The helicopter charter flights offered by IWS Aviation vary from cargo transportation, VIP transfers, scenic tours, direct medical evacuations, aerial photography & filming, airport transfers (domestic only), and other customer requirements. The company offers helicopter charter flights on the AIRBUS H120 and AIRBUS H130 helicopters that are based at the Welisara hanger. The AIRBUS H120 can accommodate up to 4 passengers while the AIRBUS H130 can accommodate up to 6 passengers with fully air-conditioned comfort. IWS Aviation has high and hour-by-hour maintenance to ensure a well-maintained fleet of helicopters contracted with SAFRAN Helicopter Engines Asia Pte Ltd., the world-leading manufacturer of rotorcraft turbines.

Aerodrome

IWS Aviation launched Sri Lanka’s first privately-owned fully-fledged aerodrome in Welisara, Sri Lanka in 2018. Facilities at the aerodrome include landing and parking space, line and base maintenance for Airbus and Bell Helicopters, AOG (Aircraft on Ground) Help Desk Support, crew coordination and AOC (Air Operators certificate) 24/7.

As the only private Aerodrome in Sri Lanka our facility offers landing / parking spaces, Aircraft on Ground Help Desk (AOG) support, crew coordination and a VIP lounge line along with base maintenance including overhaul, inspection, replacement, defect rectification, and the embodiment of modifications, compliance with airworthiness directives.
